Vic Mensa had a brush with the law when he was in California. According to reports, the rapper was reportedly arrested in Glendale for having a pair of brass knuckles.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the punk rocker was riding a motorcycle, but then he was caught by police making an unsafe turn. An police officer then pulled over the musician before patting him down at some point during the stop.
A pair of the brass knuckles was allegedly found in Vic’s pants pocket. Bad news for him, the object are among those that are banned in California. That led him to get booked for felony possession of brass knuckles.
He was later released after posting a $20,000 bond.
This arrives after he took rap music to task following the death of fellow Chicago-born star, Juice WRLD. “I think that, as members of the hip-hop community, we need to take responsibility for the things that we say. We need to recognize that the s**t we talk about influences children,” Vic told the news outlet.
“So when we are steady pushing a message of lean and Percocets and Xans, we are polluting the minds of the youth. We have a responsibility to give it to them in a real way,” he went on saying. “Not to say that you can’t talk about your real life and the things that are happening but I think that we need to start holding each other and ourselves accountable for our glorification of the drug culture, 100 percent. That’s just what it is. Anything else, that’s parasitic to our people to just act like this is the s**t to be on lean all the time.”
“And when we see these things happening to the young brothers, like rest in peace, Juice. Too early, 21. And rap is much to blame for it,” he added.
