Original The Wiggles singer Greg Page is recovering in hospital after collapsing at the end of the group’s concert reunion to raise funds for Australia’s bushfire relief efforts.

Page, Anthony Field, Murray Cook, and Jeff Fatt came together on Friday, January 17, 2020 to stage a one-off gig in Sydney, with proceeds benefitting officials at the Australian Red Cross and the NSW Wildlife Information and Rescue Education Services (WIRES).

However, as the beloved children’s band prepared to perform “Hot Potato” for the show’s finale, Page fell to the stage floor, bringing the event to a halt as an emergency medical technician rushed to his aid.

He was taken to a nearby hospital while the remaining trio completed its set, which was dedicated to Page, who had turned 48 on Thursday.

Updating fans after the show, a representative for the stars wrote on Twitter, “As has been reported, our friend Greg Page suffered a cardiac arrest at the end of the bushfire relief performance and was taken to hospital.”

“He has had a procedure and is now recovering in hospital. We appreciate your kind messages and concern.”

Page had originally retired from The Wiggles in 2006 after he was diagnosed with orthostatic intolerance, a circulation condition which makes it difficult for sufferers to stand for long periods of time.

The Wiggles’ benefit gig marked the first time the original members of the group had reunited onstage since 2016, when they celebrated their 25th anniversary.
