The 22-year-old model remembers the ‘We Found Love’ singer spanked her with a whip after she walked the runway of Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty show while in labor.

Slick Woods grabbed headlines last September after she revealed that she was in labor when she walked the runway at New York Fashion Week. The then-pregnant model was modeling lingerie collection from Rihanna‘s “Savage x Fenty” in Brooklyn when she started feeling that she’s going to give birth.
Recalling that moment, Slick says that she remembers the Barbadian singer spanked her backstage before she went to the hospital. “My last memory before going into the hospital is of Rihanna spanking me with a whip,” she says in an interview with Vogue magazine.
“I was already 2cm dilated when I left the show,” she says, “and I was in labour for another 18 hours.” Slick gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Saphir the next day, on early Thursday, September 13. The baby’s father is model Adonis Bosso.
Recalling the childbirth, Slick reveals that singer Erykah Badu served as her spiritual guide during the process. “The delivery room was out of control. There was my agent and my baby’s daddy and Erykah Badu on FaceTime, acting as my doula,” she dishes. “Then suddenly there he was: my miracle. I have no words for what it felt like to hold him for the first time.”
On how becoming a mother has changed her life, she shares, “Every day since, my son has healed me, invigorated me – and helped me come to terms with my past. I never had a normal family. Now I’ve created my own. Who knew you could miss someone your whole damn life without ever having met them?”
Slick, who was open about her pregnancy, also did a photo shoot for Elle U.K. while she was six months pregnant. Being a mother at a relatively young age, she’s kept her positive attitude. “I hear sob stories about baby daddy drama. Being 21 and my baby’s father being excited is just step one. There are girls who don’t even have that,” she told the magazine during the photo shoot last summer.
“If you’ve never had hope for the future, you have to,” she added. “You can create life; whatever you want that life to be. The more kids you have paying it forward, the more new ideas there will be. You have to get your army ready.”
