Not Just 50 Cent and Tekashi69, These Celebrity Best Friends Also Turn Into Foes
[ad_1]
After certain fallout, these pairs of famous stars who used to be close to each other have stopped talking and some even take their feuds to public with wars of words.
AceShowbiz – “Best friends are the family you choose.” – Jess C. Scott. Thus, it’s common to find that those who claim themselves to be best friends have very strong bond to each other. Understanding one another, sharing secrets, making memories together and being there in good and bad times, these displays of friendship can make others jealous.
But unfortunately for some people, they cannot maintain this good relationship. A recent example from showbiz, 50 Cent and Tekashi a.k.a. 6ix9ine showed how a close relationship can suddenly turn sour after a certain fallout. Before the “FeFe” hitmaker was arrested for federal racketeering case, he was considered Fif’s protege and taken under the more senior rapper’s wings.
However, the “In Da Club” spitter appeared to have distanced himself from the 23-year-old star. During a recent appearance on HOT 97’s “The Breakfast Club”, the “Power” star said he hadn’t spoken to 6ix9ine since he’s jailed and wouldn’t answer his call. “When you do s**t like that, you’re your mama’s child. Don’t call me! Don’t call me!” 50 Cent said, likely referring to 6ix9ine pleading guilty to federal charges and agreeing to cooperate with federal authorities back in January.
But just as history repeats itself, this is far from the first time fans witnessing celebrities feuding with their own best friends. Revisiting those dramatic moments, here are some famous stars who have been strained from their former soulmates due to various issues.
1. Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy
Just like their characters on “Sam & Cat“, Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy were best friends off-camera during the filming of the Nickelodeon show. Despite its popularity, the series was canceled after just one season in 2014, prompting speculations that there were tensions behind the scenes. Words were Jennette was paid less than Ariana, even though they had equal roles on the show. Ariana denied this, but Jennette seemed to confirm it by saying that Nickelodeon had put her in “an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation” and that she had to look out for herself. Adding fuel to the fire, the blonde actress unfollowed Ariana on social media.
A year later, Jennette admitted that they “butted heads at times but in a very sisterly way.” Though she denied that they were feuding like it was reported, the former “iCarly” star once explained her fizzled relationship with the “Thank U, Next” songstress, “I just feel that, you know Ariana and I were and are extremely close and very like-minded in a lot of different ways and then, sorta as the show dissolved, everybody wanted to find some sort of hidden meaning in our relationship.”
2. Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad
Those who were following “The Hills” must have witnessed Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad‘s friendship and the demise of it. The two were best friends when they started filming the MTV reality series. But that suddenly changed when Heidi and her now-husband Spencer Pratt spread a rumor that Lauren and her then-boyfriend Jason Wahler made a sex tape in 2007.
The Laguna Beach native let it be known how much she was disappointed by her then-BFF’s bertrayal while denying the existence of such tape. “Jason and I are both shocked and hurt that people would say such horrible things about us. I can’t believe that somebody would go to such great lengths to try to damage my reputation,” she said at the time. More than ten years later, Lauren still closed the door for a reconciliation with Heidi. “Sometimes things happen that will change how you feel about people, and sometimes it’s very permanent,” she told Cosmopolitan earlier this year.
3. Heather Locklear and Denise Richards
Heather Locklear and Denise Richards were really good friends when the former was still married to Richie Sambora and the latter was married to Charlie Sheen. The then-couples used to go on double dates. But as their marriages crumbled apart, so did their friendship. When both actresses filed for divorce from their respective spouses, Denise began dating Richie, much to Heather’s dismay.
The former “Melrose Place” star announced the end of their friendship on People magazine at the time. “I wish Heather well,” she said as quoted in the magazine. “Unfortunately, our friendship had to dissolve and I’m sad about that. The last thing I would want to do is create a media frenzy like this, especially as I’m trying to get through a divorce.” The two still aren’t friends now.
4. Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton
Before Kim Kardashian is a hugely popular reality TV star, she was a friend and stylist of another famous TV personality, Paris Hilton. They would party and went on vacations together and that’s when the world was first introduced to Kim. Their friendship, however, went downhill when Kim began to taste fame. Words were “The Simple Life” alum was not impressed that the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star used her sex tape with Ray J to launch her and her family’s careers.
Paris then did the unexpected by dissing Kim during an interview in 2008. “I would not want Kim’s butt – it’s gross … It reminds me of cottage cheese inside a big trash bag,” she said of Kim’s famous derriere. She then apologized to Kim, but the damaged had been done. The two drifted apart since then. After years not getting in touch with one another, they eventually buried the hatchet and started to hang out again. “I love Kim. Basically, we’ve been friends since we were born. I’m so proud of her, and everything she’s achieved,” Paris said of her friend in 2017.
5. 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Looking at how they engage in a war of words nowadays, no one would’ve guessed that 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. were once BFFs. They were on The Money Team, teamed up to launch a film production company in 2011, and the rapper even picked up the retired boxer from jail after his three-month sentence for domestic violence in 2012.
But just a month later, Fif said that Floyd had stopped hanging out with him and he was not cool about it. The actual beef, however, didn’t start until the “Power” star started to befriend Manny Pacquiao, who was Floyd’s rival. Since then, the former best friends would throw shade at each other on social media, with Fif once dissing the Pretty Boy’s intelligence by claiming that the former athlete didn’t know how to read. Though there were moments when their feud seemed to cool down, they never patch things up and Fif recently reignited it by poking fun at Floyd’s illiteracy again.
6. Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa
Francia Raisa was willing to do everything for Selena Gomez, including donating one of her very valuable kidneys to save her friend, when she had a kidney failure as the side effect of her lupus in summer 2017. The “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum made it be known how much she appreciated Francia’s kindness by posting a heartfelt note on Instagram, thanking her “sis” for “the ultimate gift and sacrifice.”
Two years later, report emerged that the two had stopped talking to each other since October of 2018. Rumor had it, it was Selena’s unhealthy lifestyle that upset the “Grown-ish” star, because the “Wolves” singer allegedly promised to dedicate herself to getting healthy after such serious health issues. The fact that the two have neither addressed nor denied the rumor only seemed to confirm that they’re no longer on good terms.
7. Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods
Jordyn Woods was much like Kim Kardashian to Kylie Jenner‘s Paris Hilton. The two were inseparable for years, with Jordyn even living in Kylie’s house and they having a friendship commitment ceremony in Peru in 2018. That, however, was before Jordyn was involved in an affair drama involving the makeup mogul’s half-sister Khloe Kardashian‘s then boyfriend and baby daddy, Tristan Thompson.
Jordyn and Tristan were reportedly caught hooking up in early 2019. While Kylie never publicly responded to the affair rumor, her family reportedly expected her to distance herself from the 21-year-old model. Months later, Jordyn and her mom seemingly tried to reach out to Kylie by interacting with the reality TV star’s Instagram, prompting a speculation that a reconciliation was on the way. As of now, however, they have never been seen together again.
8. Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera
As The Mickey Mouse alums, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera must have understood each other’s struggles and hardships to climb their way to become global stars like today. They often appeared on numerous occasions together and performed together with Madonna at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2003. But Xtina hinted that their rivalry started when they argued over fellow Mouseketeer Justin Timberlake, who would later date Britney for three years.
Their feud escalated after Britney was praised for her 2001 single “I’m a Slave 4 U”, while Christina’s 2002 sexy singer “Dirrty” received negative feedback from critics. Seemingly bitter about it, the former “The Voice” coach began to trash talk Britney, who didn’t stay quiet and clapped back at Christina. The back-and-forth continued for years, feeding multiple tabloid headlines. Although they seem to be cordial now, they never repair their broken bond.
9. Jennifer Aniston and Chelsea Handler
Despite being best friends back then, Jennifer Aniston and Chelsea Handler‘s personalities never matched each other. While Jen is very private about her personal life, Chelsea could not hold back from talking about the “Friends” alum’s relationships with her exes in public. That eventually cost her her friendship with the 50-year-old actress.
The comedian later admitted that her own anger issues have caused trouble with friendships, possibly including one with the “Horrible Bosses” star, and she’s gone through therapy to work on her issues. Maintaining her grace, Jen never addressed the fallout of their friendship. She later appeared to restore it by inviting the TV host to her 50th birthday party in February of this year.
10. Jay-Z and Kanye West
Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s friendship wasn’t only benefiting them mentally, but also financially. The two big rap stars collaborated on 2011’s studio album “Watch the Throne” that went on to become a huge success. After years of calling each other best friend though, Kanye somehow got bitter about Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles skipping his wedding to Kim Kardashian in Paris, and he unloaded his feelings in public during his concert in 2016.
Jay-Z responded to Kanye’s rant in 2017’s song “Kill Jay-Z”, in which he suggests that the “Black Skinhead” rapper borrowed $20 million from him. After a reported dispute over money, Kanye left Tidal which he launched together with Jay-Z in 2015. Despite many interests in their friendship drama, Jay-Z took to Twitter in November 2018 to clarify that he and Kanye are still “brothers” and asked people to stop pitting them against each other.
