Exclusive Look Behind The Scenes Of Katy Perry's 'Rise' Video

In this exclusive, extended behind-the-scenes video clip, Katy Perry explains the origin of her moving and emotional song “Rise.”

Shot in Snow Canton, Utah, and featuring only Katy as the only actor on screen, the video plays with themes of struggles and overcoming challenges, also represented in the song title “Rise” and the inspiring lyrics of hope and perseverance.

In the Pclip, Katy goes into the history of the song and how it came to her. 

“The song title ‘Rise’ has always been kind of slow-cooking slowly inside my head,” she says. “It just came out. I think it’s a great time for this message.”

She says this is not necessarily the first single off her new record, but just a “song I feel is just right for this time right now. It’s something to keep everybody tide over until the record does come.”
