Brad Pitt has recalled the moment he confronted Harvey Weinstein for making advances on his then-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow, admitting he treated the producer like a playground bully.

Back in 2017, the “Avengers: Endgame” actress told The New York Times she was “petrified” of the former Miramax boss, adding she “thought he was going to fire” her when Brad threatened him after she declined his invitation to join him for a massage in the mid-1990s.

Brad reflected on the incident for the first time during an interview with Christiane Amanpour for CNN, remembering how he felt while standing up to a man very few had been willing to cross.

“At that moment, I was just a boy from the Ozarks on the playground.. and that’s.. and that’s how we confronted with things,” he mused. The Ozarks is a region in the U.S. states of Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma – where Brad grew up.”

“I just wanted to make sure nothing was going to happen further, because she (Paltrow) was going to do two films,” he continued. “I think the interesting thing is that we, Hollywood specifically, but the workplace, men and women’s dynamics is being recalibrated, recalibrated in a very good way that is long overdue. And I do think that’s an important story to tell.”

Weinstein has denied Paltrow’s claims. He is to face charges of sexual assault, including rape, in a court in Manhattan, New York in January (2020), that are unrelated to the “Sliding Doors” actress’ allegations. If convicted, the movie mogul, who denies the charges, could face a lengthy prison sentence.
